During the Coronavirus crisis, it is more important than ever to maintain your mental health. This is a hugely worrying time, and it is normal for adults and children to need more support and resources than usual.
ChatHealth School Nurse Service
To support your child’s mental and physical health, Manchester School Health Service are continuing to run ChatHealth, a mobile media messaging service to enable young people to receive help and support with their health needs.
ChatHealth is an award-winning school nurse messaging service for young people aged 11-16 years, available Monday to Friday from 9am – 4pm including school holidays.
Students can text #ChatHealthNHS to 07507330205 and they will receive a reply. The service enables young people to send a text from a mobile device which is received by a school nurse who responds via a desktop computer. This allows the young person to ask questions which they may feel uncomfortable to ask face to face.
It is particularly beneficial during the current COVID 19 Pandemic as it enables young people to continue to access support with their health needs even if they are not attending school. The system also increases the young person’s access to the school health service by working in a young people friendly manner whilst utilising technology.
